In 2006, GUM provided food, shelter and clothing as well as emergency financial assistance for rent, mortgage and utility bills to over 40,000 individuals. Partnership Village provides transitional housing and case management to formerly homeless families and individuals. | Crisis Control Ministry, located in Winston Salem, NC is the largest provider of emergency assistance for people of need in Forsyth County. Through it's food pantry, clothing room, rent and utilities payments and North Carolina's first free pharmacy, the ministry provided help to almost 40,000 people in 2006, valued at nearly $3.1 million. The ministries services 1 out of every 19 residents of Forsyth County. | Open Door Ministries (ODM), located in High Point, NC provides assistance to those in need through their emergency services programs, the Fathers Table Food Kitchen and the Open Door Shelter, an emergency shelter for men. Emergency services include assistance with food, housing and medical funds. ODM assisted 1,200 families in the greater High Point community in 2006, the Fathers Table served 148,000 meals and the shelter provided housing for 769 men. |
